AYSO Winter Futsal Jamboree!
AYSO is partnering with 808 Futsal (1010 Munu Street, Kapolei, HI 96707) to bring this exciting type of soccer to AYSO players! We are running a 5 weeks program on Saturdays November 23 through December 21st. These 1 ½ hour sessions will be run jamboree style with players randomly placed on teams that will play a series of 8-10 minute mini games during that time.
Futsal is played 5v5 which includes a keeper with free substitutions and no slide tackling. 8U and 10U will be played on half courts with 12U on the full courts.
Players register individually on the Leeward AYSO Region web site and select the 2024 Winter Futsal Jamboree. Be sure to use the login that you used to register for the fall season so you are not charged the $25 national fee again. The cost for current AYSO players is $65, $90 for non AYSO players. The sessions will be coed for 8U and gender specific for 10U, and 12U age divisions. Sessions will be held at 808 Futsal’s indoor, air conditioned, facility in Kapolei. Session start times each week are:
- 8U Coed - 8:30 AM
- 10U Girls and 10U Boys- 10:15 AM
- 12U Boys - Noon
- 12U Girls - 1:45 PM
Players can wear any color shirt and shorts as scrimmage vests will be used to identify teams. Futsal balls will be provided at the site. Players will need water (no other beverages are allowed) shin guards and shoes with flat soles (no turf shoes or cleats allowed). The intent of this program is to provide the opportunity to play futsal in a fun player centric environment. While we will need volunteers each week to help keep time and manage the games (Help with substitutions and keep a general eye on games) there will not be any coaching or referees needed. The idea is to let the kids play and learn through the game itself. They will be instructed and reminded about futsal rules but otherwise allowed to play.
The staff at 808 Futsal will explain the time keeper roles and game manager roles. Volunteers will stay on the same court for the session, the players however will be rotating around to different courts throughout the session. We will need 3 time keepers and 3 to 6 game managers each week for each session. Please sign up to help upon arrival at the facility.
